I have been working with children, young people and families for over ten years in various roles. I am currently a Senior Educational Psychologist for a Local Authority, and an IFS Therapist in private practice. I loves spending half of my week working in systems and schools and within a multi-disciplinary team, as well as with young people and their networks. I am also really enjoying the other half of the week being focused on therapeutic work with my clients. I believe these two areas of my work compliment each other well, and help me to appreciate the complexity and magic of our internal systems as individuals, which are always operating within external systems, including our families and school/work contexts and broader cultural systems.

Since I was a child, I’ve always had a deep curiosity about people, and the beautiful and often painful complexities of being human. My personal and professional experience (and a hearty evidence base) has shown me that a whole-body approach, involving and inviting all our parts, is the most conducive to healing. My main therapy modality is Internal Family Systems (IFS), which is an evidence-based approach. IFS provides a guiding framework within which I incorporate all of my learning from a range of origins. This approach invites and welcomes ALL parts of a person - the thinking, the feeling, the defences, the pains, the joys, all of it. Because none of it is bad. And when we meet all parts of us with curiosity, we can develop genuine self-understanding, compassion from within, and choice in how we respond to feelings or situations. Overtime this creates a path of life which can be walked with more ease, confidence and calm.
